Poised to shift its business model, Pediatrix, a provider of subspecialty pediatric care, tapped us to reimagine its flagship in Houston, Texas. We set out to establish a memorable and playful design experience that would also be efficient and innovative from a clinical perspective. The reimagined look and feel is an approachable aesthetic that appeals to families, exudes professional expertise and functions well for the doctors and nurses on staff. We carefully selected modern, fun commercial grade furniture to accommodate children of all ages and be functional for a busy medical practice. And who doesn’t love an aquarium in the doctor’s office? A custom digital Under the Sea display on the waiting room wall entertains sick patients with visual graphics and an  interactive, hands-on element engages those waiting for well visits. The dynamic aquatic theme follows patients into the exam rooms with vibrant paint color, custom wall art and patterns on the furniture and finishes. The whimsical yet sophisticated design, as well as the function and flow of this practice, are laying the groundwork for future Pediatrix clinics that will deliver enhanced patient care in an engaging setting.
