Respectful and Artful Reimagining for Victorian Farmhouse
Prior to the full restoration of this venerable 1860’s farm home, situated in one of the West Coast’s notable historic districts, our design team spent significant time at the property imagining the original architectural intent. As a result, the new design respects the home’s Victorian grandeur, while introducing modern flow, purpose and conveniences. Our modernization stands out in the professional kitchen that pays homage to the historic character intrinsic to the home. Thoughtful restoration includes medallions and crown molding, hand scraped, rift-sawn oak flooring and copper fascias, gables and chimney caps. One-of-a-kind, stained glass windows, transoms and doors commissioned by local artists and Victorian-age steam gauges from local antique shops add period appropriate decorative flair. The bar mural is hand stenciled and features layered decoupage with a steampunk twist that starts a conversation. Our complete reimaging of this farmhouse property includes exterior patios, gardens and landscaping, with elevated entertaining features such as terraced vegetable beds, an outdoor wood-burning oven and an underground wine and meat aging cellar. Guests can’t tell the difference between the old and new architectural details, which is the greatest compliment.
