Moments of Delight + Discovery at the Doctor

Urban Chalet had already designed more than 50 One Medical adult primary care offices nationwide when the company came to us with a new ask: Design offices that remained true to One Medical’s distinct brand and existing audience – mainly busy professionals – and also welcomed families and young children. To achieve a waiting room design that is kid-friendly without sacrificing the brand’s contemporary sophisticated aesthetic, we incorporated mini versions of modern furniture as well as cozy alcoves for teens seeking privacy. Turning parents’ pain points into opportunities for creative solutions, our design includes stroller parking, private and comfortable “nurture rooms” for breastfeeding and changing, and playful, surprising activities built directly into reception desks. Throughout the space, we creatively offer moments of discovery and whimsy – magnet walls, block stations, decorative trees with fairy lights and bright graphic art, tile and wallpaper – that delight kids and adults alike.
